2002 Dodge Durango Overheating Dodge Durango Forum Hello all. i'll start by saying i'm not a mechanic, so please excuse any ignorant statements or questions. my 2002 durango started overheating last week. it would overheat fast, in under ten minutes. i put on a new radiator cap and overflow tank cap. neither of these made any difference. then i put on a new thermostat. 8 posts · joined 2022. #2 · sep 16, 2022. i had a serious overheating problem with my 2003 durango with 5.9. it turned out to be the overflow hose was clogged. and this caused a cascading problem with leaks because the pressure building up inside the engine circulation. take it off and see if it is clogged. reply like.
