2008 6 4l Coolant Leak Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums 6.4l power stroke diesel 2008 6.4l dreaded coolant leak for the past 4 weeks now, i have spent money on mechanics and commercial insurance payments to the tune of about $6k and i have not been able to find a mechanic that can stop the coolant leak or coolant dissapear issue. mechanics have not been able to figure. Just an original owner or a 250. looks or sounds like a well documented cavitation problem on the 6.4. ford updated the coolant hoses by adding a second o ring on the hoses. this was to eliminate air in the system. if air is allowed in the system, it gets trapped in the front cover and creates a big mess.

F. fordman4286 discussion starter. 6 posts · joined 2010. #1 · jan 25, 2010. i have an 08 f 250 6.4l that is leaking coolant. it is driping from the cross member, below the motor and above the front diff. it looks to be running down some wire loom on the front of the motor some where toward the top on the drivers side. 2008 6.4 coolant leak. guys , my truck has a small leak , on the drivers side on the radiator, it's like a slow drip. can't see were it's coming from. please help!! thanks! ullover: $1,200 fix at the dealer, since you're out of warranty now. that's the 3yr 36,000 not the 5 100 powertrain. mine had two radiators before it found the one it liked.
