Cool review. but yeah man, it is just weird to go back from dmc5 to dmc1. you going backwards in gameplay, story and overall progression. that’s why is tragically is pretty much impossible to appreciate a game for the time it came out when playing it decades later.

Okay, not this dmc, but might as well start from the beginning. and long story short, i'm glad i did, because dmc1 is a very interesting and fun experience. for those who don't know, devil may cry was originally supposed to be resident evil 4, and that's still very apparent here. Yes, ninja gaiden sigma is a remake of the first game (not the arcade game, i mean the xbox reboot, the black version to be precise) with several additions, most notably more story chapters with a new playable character, but they also added enemies, weapons, missions etc and of course a graphic overhaul, though those adventure elements mentioned by goukiakujiki were heavily toned down in this. This version of the game was based on the japanese version of dmc1, so it may actually be a touch easier on normal mode. and no i'm not thinking of dmc3 it happend to both 1 and 3. i replayed dmc1 on emulator recently and the original isn't any harder than the hd collection version.
