Ford Taurus Cooling Problems Solved Youtube 11 posts · joined 2020. #1 · oct 1, 2021. the cooling fan in my 2008 taurus will not turn on, and the engine overheats when driving the vehicle. yesterday when driving i noticed smoke coming out the right (from the perspective of the driver) side of the hood, and when i opened the hood there was coolant all around the reservoir. Yep, it was popped. 👍. drive to work, nothing changed and no pressure in the coolant. (when i got to work i was able to take the coolant cap off. less pressure than a can of soda opening.) 😕. ok, water pump. replaced it. (and top engine mount, but i digress) let car idle with heater on to get air out of the system.

(i have the one with the pressure release. The first thing that you would want to do is locate the fuse for your taurus’s radiator fan and make sure that it hasn’t blown. if it is blown, replacing the fuse will only solve the problem for a very limited period of time. unless the wiring issue is fixed, the fuse will blow again.
