Normal Build Up Overheating Issues Dodge Durango Forum I have a 2005 5.7 durango that has this buildup under the oil cap and i’ve been having overheating problems. overheats just sitting. i’ve changed the thermostat and inspected the coolant hoses and there fine. no heat also. i’ve burped the system a couple times now and i’m not sure where to go from here. also it’s throwing a misfire on. Octmor15 discussion starter. 4 posts · joined 2022. #1 · sep 30, 2022. i have a 2012 dodge durango sxt 2wd 3.6l i replaced thermostat, so overheating issues started. i burped system after that replaced radiator as well all the hose clamps. but overheating issues still continues, i am out of options if any one has any ideas please let me know.
Dodge Durango Overheating Problems 2006 durango "another overheating issue". i've been reading the forums the last couple of days and saw some of the issues that folks have been having with the overheating issues. i have an '06 slt with a 4.7l that just developed an overheating issue. it has just over 118,000 miles and was ordered new by me and delivered in november of '05. Don fox. 8023 posts · joined 2004. #7 · dec 10, 2023. that makes sense. the ac is removing cabin heat, and shedding it in front of the radiator via the condenser. if you have a voltmeter or test light, verify the presence of voltage at the fan connector when the ac is on. if the fan blade wobbles, the motor is bad. The antifreeze reservoir fill line is at a normal level when cold, but after overheating the first time, it was all the way to the top of the reservoir this vehicle came equipped with the factory installed class iv tow package, and i realize it's not a v8 (like my last truck), but still, you'd think for something that's theoretically rated for.

Yaaaabuddy03 said: there are a few things it could be. thinking that it might be the water pump, or the clutch fan is on the right track. i would open the hood, and leave it idle for a little bit. if that clutch fan doesn't kick on, it's your clutch fan. as far as water pump i don't know how to tell if it's bad but, i would check into.
